I'm an Orange County native, and for all my life I called the action that can be described as pouring someone else's drink into your mouth without your lips touching it a birdie. Everyone, literally everyone, I knew called it a birdie.
I'm now a freshman at UCSB, and I'm friends with people from all over the state from SD to Sac and every single one of them calls this action a "waterfall" and finds the term birdie weird.
I've figured out it's unique to OC, but my question is why we say...
So I was driving down harbor and I was coming up to trask street light and saw it was yellow and i thought i was able to make it. I couldn't slow down so I took it and by the time I passed the line it was already red. I usually don't take yellows but I was just trying to get home. And I thought I had the chance to make it. When the ticket comes in can I just ignore it and not pay? I was reading a post about a similar sitution at LA but it was over a year ago. And people were telling to OP...
Orange Hill used to be $27, now it's $60+. Are there any solid Brunch Buffets with bottomless Mimosa below $30? Sat/Sun either or.submitted by /u/rawrromp
Are there any places around here that have a large selection of raw denim?submitted by /u/Dawboo
I went to get gas tonight and went to Berri Bros on Main and Katella. Next thing I noticed was an ad on their TV's for Mobil gas and then noticed the station was branded as 76 instead of Berri Bros. Looks like I'm going to stick with getting gas at Costco again which typically had the same price as Berri Bros. I can't see it being the same when it's branded as 76.submitted by /u/mtux96
I want to find a spot to take remarkable pictures of my unremarkable car. The two places I've gone to take pictures are the top level of the Nordstrom carpark at Brea Mall, and Hillcrest Park. I feel like there have to be better places. Where's a good place that will give me a nice city backdrop and will allow me to drive my car up to it without it being weird?submitted by /u/archpope
Not sure if this is the best sub to post this question. We'll be visiting southern California and part of the trip we'll be driving from Anaheim to Joshua Tree in a 1978 VW Bus. Does anyone have a recommended route?
We are not opposed to using a freeway if it's much more direct, but since we can't actually take advantage of going 80 mph (or 65 for that matter), we're wondering if there are any good alternative routes that wouldn't add tons of miles?submitted by /u/shmerham
Had to move back in with my parents 5 years ago and haven't had to pay rent or a bill since. Looking to get myself an apartment (2 bedroom probably) in north county, but I need to budget and know what I can afford before I can start looking. What are the averages for electricity, gas, water, etc. And also cable + internet? Or better &/or cheaper alternatives for cable/internet?submitted by /u/piecesofate
I thought Orange County might want to see this SD sheet: http://imgur.com/pSrSJeB Thanks for looking!submitted by /u/spaceicecream
Hey guys - I have a bit of a problem here, and am wondering if anyone would be willing to help me out.
I have an older british car from the 1970's - and the person I bought it from removed all the smog and emissions components from it, and it will never pass smog. I would add the stuff that would make it pass, but a muffler, catalytic converter, air pump, air valve, etc would cost huge amounts of money.
I want to be able to drive this car down PCH on the weekend, and for that, I will need...
OC Register said Santiago Oaks had them, can anyone confirm?submitted by /u/charmed2

So there was a little dog today that got caught inside the lockjaw of a bigger dog. Super sad, but I think the little one ended up being okay SOMEHOW. This afternoon was my second time going out there so I dont really know what's notmal there and what's not. What do you guys do when unleashed dogs approach your dog in a place like that?

Horrible? Ok? Google maps says 19 minutes. Obviously that will be longer during rush hour. Anyone do this commute and have any input? My work hours will be 9-6 and office is just south east of airport in one of the bank buildings. Thanks!!submitted by /u/jen_tropolis
