More than 10 million people signed-up for Xbox LIVE Premium, a service for Xbox 360 games, over the weekend, the company announced on Monday.
That’s up from the 9.2 million who signed-ups for the same period last year, which is more than the 9 million who bought the Xbox 360 in January 2016.
Microsoft said that’s the largest-ever number of Xbox Live subscribers.
The Xbox Live subscription is not only for new gamers, but it is also for existing Xbox Live users.
Microsoft also noted that it’s one of the most popular subscription services on Xbox Live, with more than 6.2 billion users worldwide.
Microsoft’s announcement comes as Microsoft struggles to regain its lost gaming market share.
Its first quarter profit was less than the $7.6 billion it earned in the previous quarter, as it struggled to get games into the hands of consumers.
The company also announced that it plans to release a version of its Windows 10 operating system, codenamed Spartan, in 2018.
Microsoft will release Windows 10 as an update to Windows 10 for desktops, laptops and tablets.
Microsoft announced it plans on introducing a new version of Windows for PCs, too.
