Ovechukkin was among a handful of players who were among the Stars who expressed interest in joining the Capitals on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old defenseman was not among those invited to the meeting between the teams that took place on Tuesday at the American Airlines Center.

But he did make a pitch to the Stars organization.

“I really appreciate that the organization is willing to work with me to try and win a championship,” Ovechinks first-round pick, Alex Goligoski, told Stars GM Jim Nill.

“I’m really excited to be a part of it.”

Ovechkins representatives were unable to reach the Capitals, but he was not disappointed in the fact that the team was open to a trade.

“We’re trying to build a team that’s ready to compete for a Stanley Cup, and I think that’s what they want to do,” he said.

“They want to be successful.

“You know what I mean? “

It’s a big, big, long-time goal, and that’s where I’m at right now. “

You know what I mean?

It’s a big, big, long-time goal, and that’s where I’m at right now.

I’m not there yet.”

Ovechaks season is finished and he will not play in the playoffs.

It is unclear how many teams he will be traded to, but Stars GM Steve Yzerman indicated that he would like to add a defenseman.

The Capitals are coming off a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday that was their first of the season.

That win snapped a four-game losing streak.

Ovechiks play-making abilities were the foundation of their success in that game.

He had two assists in that contest, including a pair of goals in the final minute.

He also scored two goals on the power play.

Oviks play has improved every year since he was drafted.

In 2016-17, Ovikings offense was second in the NHL, but his defense was fourth.

Ovoins production dropped off a bit in 2017-18, but has been a steady force since then.

In a sense, he is an example of what a player needs to improve upon if he is to stay in the league.

He has never been the best on the blue line, but in terms of offensive production, he has been one of the best.

“He’s a good player,” Stars coach Lindy Ruff said.

He’s a talented player.

“But he’s not going anywhere.”

Oviks development was also an issue for the Capitals.

The Capitals have a record of 27-26-4 since Ovechenks arrival.

But they’ve won nine of their last 12 games and are playing better and more defensively.

They’ve been among the league leaders in goals against per game and goals against percentage.

They have two games remaining against the New York Rangers and Arizona Coyotes.

They also host the Dallas Stars on Thursday.

“This is a really big deal,” Ruff said of Oviys arrival.

“We want to make sure we continue to build around him.

Ovochks best season came in 2017 when he scored 42 goals and added 35 assists for 76 points in 68 games. “

Now he’s coming in, we’re going to continue to get him playing.”

Ovochks best season came in 2017 when he scored 42 goals and added 35 assists for 76 points in 68 games.

The 23-year old is the fourth defenseman to average at least 30 goals and 50 points in each of the past three seasons.
