The average first-week price for a ticket to a concert is up more than $2 from the week before, but the biggest increases are in the Midwest and the Northeast, the Associated Press reported.
New Year’s Eve, the highest-priced night of the year, saw the biggest increase in ticket prices, from $1.82 to $2.24.
Prices for the big New Year’s Day fireworks show are down $1, but that’s mostly due to a spike in demand for tickets to see the event, the AP reported.

New York’s new mayor, Bill de Blasio, is a longtime supporter of the arts, which is expected to drive up demand for New Year shows.
Tickets for the National Football League’s Super Bowl will be available for the first time in the nation’s largest city this weekend, the LA Times reported.
Pricing for Super Bowl XLVIII is up $1 from last year, but is still lower than in 2016, when prices hit $5,000.
The largest price increase for tickets in 2016 was for the Super Bowl, from a record $50,000 to $60,000, according the AP.
New Orleans, which hosts the NFL’s New Orleans Saints, is expected as the second-biggest city to see an increase in first year visitors after San Francisco, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing the AP report.
The biggest price drop in 2016 came for a one-day event at a zoo in Chicago, when ticket prices dropped by $3 from last week.
The price of tickets for the NFL draft is expected a $20 increase from last years, with prices rising by $1 for the top 20 picks.
The first round of the draft is still down $4 from last.
Tickets to the 2019 World Cup of Hockey are up $3.49, with ticket prices up by $2 to $3,500.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday for the 2019 tournament, which kicks off next month.
The United States has two Olympic gold medals at the Winter Games, with Team USA capturing the gold medal in Sochi, Russia.
The U.S. will also win the men’s hockey gold medal at the Games.
